At 11pm tonight we will leave the European Union and put into effect the decision taken by the British people back in 2016. It has taken far too long to get here and it’s been far harder than it should have been. But today, more than ever, I am proud to be chairman of the party that not only listens to what people want, but also – crucially — delivers.

Get Brexit done. You might have heard this a few times during the general election campaign. And today it is a promise we fulfil. After three long years of delay, it took the prime minister less than 100 days to renegotiate the Withdrawal Agreement.
