James Cleverly visited TE Connectivity to meet staff at their new site on Springwood Industrial Estate in Braintree last Friday.
TE Connectivity is one of the top 500 biggest corporations in the world and produces EMI shielding products for industries, including aerospace, defence and communications for a wide variety of global businesses like Rolls Royce, Lockheed Martin, Thales and BAE Systems.
TE Connectivity has invested £1.2 million in relocating to a large site at the new Bradbury Park industrial estate. This site provides 70% more space, meaning more jobs, more machinery, more local technology, and more capacity for growth utilising their new high-power substation.
James said:
“The United Kingdom has become the 4th biggest exporter and investment such as this, the development of Horizon 120 and the number of large high quality employers coming to Braintree is testament to this.
“Great to see high skilled jobs with good employers available to local people, boosting our local economy.”
