James Cleverly joins Dr Alan Symington, Chairman of the League of Friends, on a visit to Halstead Hospital following news that the recently reopened rehabilitation unit and ward will remain open.
James said:
“It was fantastic to visit the fully functioning ward, at capacity, and to meet the wonderful staff at Halstead Hospital.
“The ward space at Halstead Hospital has been reopened to provide much needed step-down beds for the local NHS over winter. The increased capacity used for patients medically fit for discharge from an acute hospital setting has been very successful and I’m delighted that the ward has been funded to remain open going forward.
“This is brilliant news for Halstead and I thank the work of the Friends of Halstead Hospital, Provide and Mid and South Essex ICS for engaging with me and making this happen.”
