Today I was sworn in as a Member of Parliament.  Every MP does this after a general election from the Prime Minister to the newest parliamentary débutante, like me.

“I James Spencer Cleverly swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, her heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God.”

It is an honour and a privileged to be the Member of Parliament for Braintree.
