I have written to Nicky Morgan MP, the Secretary of State for Education, to highlight the current situation at Tabor Academy and request a meeting with her to talk about its future.  I am also arranging to meet with the new management team.

Brooks Newmark MP and I had a meeting booked with the former management team of Tabor but it was cancelled a few hours before we arrived.

It is now clear that this was because Lilac Sky were planning to announce their withdrawal from the school.

The students, staff, parents and wider community are now unsure about how the school will be run.  Lilac Sky's abrupt announcement has cause huge uncertainty and will be disruptive to those students who have exams this year.

It is unacceptable for this situation to continue and I will support efforts to get a new, secure governance arrangement in place so that the students and staff can move forward with confidence.
