James Cleverly today met with Health Minister Neil O'Brien MP to discuss the Essex Mental Health Independent Inquiry.

James said:

“This is an incredibly important piece of work and I was given assurances that the Department for Health and Social Care take this extremely seriously. The Minister stated that the department is committed to uncovering the truth surrounding inpatient mental health deaths.

“I shall, of course, continue to liaise with the DHSC regarding this grave and serious issue until the inquiry is concluded.

“My thoughts remain with the families who have lost loved ones and who have been patients.”
